New coffees from Costa Rica and Guatemala calling

New coffees from Costa Rica and Guatemala calling your name! 🇨🇷🇬🇹

First, let’s introduce this natural Costa Rican coffee from Finca El Salitre, grown by Johnny Alvarado Abarca and his family, processed at their micromill, Corazon de Jesus. 🪅 Bursting with juicy, fruity flavors and sweetness, every cherry is handpicked at peak ripeness, dried on raised beds for 10–20 days, and then rested for 2 months before dry milling. Since 2015, the micromill has experimented with everything from fully washed to honey and anaerobic processes—and even placed coffees in Cup of Excellence finals. 🏆

You’ll find notes of grape, strawberry and molasses in this complex coffee and we are sure you’ll fall in love with it as much as we do! 🍇🍓

Next up, a bright, fruity and sweet Bourbon from Guatemala, Huehuetenango (easy to pronounce right? 😉). It is produced by Jacinto Ramirez, a 4th-generation coffee farmer from Michicoy, who nurtures his family’s farms with care. He’s growing coffee under shade-providing chalum trees. 🌳 Cherries are handpicked, fermented, washed, and sun-dried for 5–8 days before resting 2 months in Huehuetenango City.

Grown at 2,000 meters in a unique microclimate, this coffee captures the region’s distinctive fruit flavors in every cup with notes of apple, cherry and chocolate. 🍎🍒🍫

Busy days call for more new faces in the ROAST crew — meet Tarry, Claudia, Matej & Nick! 🌍

Four people from four different continents, each bringing their own flavor to the team. Keep reading to get to know these legends a little better — we’re so pumped to have them on board!

First of all, meet Tarry — originally from Japan, with barista experience perfected in both Japan and Australia. 🇯🇵🇦🇺 Now in Denmark, he's balancing two jobs like a pro, always with the sweetest attitude behind the bar. Oh, and did we mention he used to be a firefighter?🔥 Talk about calm under pressure! 🧑‍🚒

Next up, Claudia — a proud Colombian-Venezuelan with a huge passion for coffee and languages. 💬 She fell in love with coffee on a coffee farm in Colombia and then life took her across the Faroe Islands and Sweden to Denmark! Translator, teacher, call center… and now part of the ROAST crew, pouring coffees like a champ (in five languages and counting!). ☕✨

Say hi to Matej 👋 — born in a small Croatian town, now calling Malmö home. His journey took him from the crazy hustle of Dublin Airport’s coffee chaos to calmer days in Malmö and Copenhagen. Off the clock, you’ll catch him sipping matcha and diving into Russian literature. 📖🍵 A calm soul with a fast-paced tempo — the perfect blend. 🏃

Last but not least, Nick — all the way from Canada, living in Copenhagen for the past year. 🇨🇦 When he’s not brewing your coffees, he’s usually in the wilderness on epic canoe-camping adventures. 🛶 He’s even taken cartography courses just to make his own maps — talk about dedication! Out of the woods, you’ll find him chilling in the garden, pour over in hand. ☕🌿

Please give them all a very warm welcome because we can’t be more excited to have them all on board! ♥️

New bags, familiar coffee? 🇪🇹

Say hello to Ethiopia BETTE BUNA — you’ve met it before in DUO44, but we loved it so much, it deserved its own spot on the shelf. 🎉

This lot comes from farmers in Taferi Kela, where cherries are delivered to Bette Buna’s washing station the same day they’re picked — keeping things fresh from the very beginning. 🌱

Founded in 2020 by husband and wife Dawit and Hester, Bette Buna continues a family legacy of coffee farming that spans nearly a century. Today, they operate across Guji, Yirgacheffe, Sidama, and Bench Maji, partnering closely with local producers to grow incredible coffee and create meaningful opportunities. 👨🏾‍🌾

The cup? Clean, vibrant, and everything we love about washed Ethiopian coffee — with bright orange-like acidity, rich chocolate, and juicy layers of raspberry. 🍫🍊🍓
