El Ciprés is a story of effort, resilience, and renewal. Each harvest represents progress, and every step toward improvement reflects the strength and vision of its producers. It is a farm in constant transformation— carrying the hope of its land, the perseverance of its people, and the promise of a brighter future in every cup.
Located in Planadas, in the southern part of Tolima and nestled deep in the foothills of the Central Andes, Finca El Ciprés is a farm rich in history, community, and purpose. As part of the ASEMPROGROGROPE association, it represents a
collaborative effort among several families who share a common vision: producing exceptional, sustainable, and honest coffee.
The farm is managed by Cristian Guilombo, whose dedication and perseverance stand at the heart of its story. El Ciprés spans 20 hectares, of which 6 hectares are dedicated to coffee production. The remaining land is preserved as a native forest reserve, protecting biodiversity and maintaining ecological balance in the region.
Within its cultivated area, the farm grows traditional and resilient varieties such as Caturra, Castillo, and Colombia, thriving under the region’s fertile volcanic soils and favourable climate. Cristian’s wife is his closest supporter and motivator, sharing both the day-to-day work and the long-term vision for the farm.
Among the standout areas of the farm is the plot called El Morro— a name that in Spanish means “nose.” The lot earned this name because the land formation rises prominently when viewed from the farm, almost like the “nose” of the landscape. And just as it stands out visually, it also stands out in the cup, known for its expressive aroma and distinctive flavour profile.
Cristian and his family are focused on refining post-harvest processes to achieve greater consistency and quality in every lot. Their work is continuously strengthened through collaboration with InConexus, who support improvements in both pre-harvest and post-harvest practices. Through the association, they also achieved organic certification, reflecting the farm’s commitment tosustainable, environmentally respectful cultivation.
